Watermelon radishes are an amazing looking root vegetable that has its origins in China, where it is called shinrimei. Watermelon radishes are a cousin of the Daikon radish and is considered an heirloom variety. Some people like them pickled while others like putting a few slices over a slice of bread with a good organic butter and a sprinkle of kosher or Moldan’s sea salt and fresh cracked pepper. Either way you sprinkle it, there’s no denying that this is one far out looking radish!
